Engine Fire Warning Switch
Illuminated –
Note: Master FIRE WARN lights illuminate and fire warning bell sounds.
Down – normal position.
The switch is mechanically locked down if there is no fire signal.
Illuminated –
- Indicates a fire in the related engine.
- Unlocks the related engine fire warning switch.

Down – normal position.
The switch is mechanically locked down if there is no fire signal.
Up –
Rotate (left or right) – discharges the related fire bottle.
- Arms one discharge squib on each engine fire extinguisher.
- Closes the related fuel, hydraulic shutoff and engine bleed air valves.
- Disables the related thrust reverser.
- Trips the related generator control relay and breaker.
- Deactivates the related engine driven hydraulic pump LOW
PRESSURE light. - Allows the engine fire warning switch to rotate.
Rotate (left or right) – discharges the related fire bottle.
